Braden Potter is a Nashville-based photographer working between Nashville and Florence, Alabama. He is currently studying photography at the University of North Alabama, where he continues to develop a practice centered around analog processes, material experimentation, and image-making.
Working primarily with black-and-white medium-format film, Potter’s photographs are characterized by strong composition, deep contrast, texture, and a heightened sense of atmosphere. His work often explores memory, isolation, imperfection, and the fragile relationship between a moment and the image left behind.
As his practice continues to evolve, Potter has become increasingly interested in the physical qualities of photography itself, using grain, distortion, manipulation, and deterioration as part of the image rather than treating them as flaws. Potter’s work has been featured in Lights & Shadows Volumes 63 and 64, Photografique Issue 002, and the Tennessee Valley Museum of Art.
